Hi guys,

My name Said Farah one of the leaders of Somali Chapter of the Internet Society,
I attended the High-level panel discussion held on March 28th2018, at palais des nations in Geneva under the title: ”Quality Education for refugees and IDPs”.

The forum, organized by Sheikh Moza Bint Nasser, chairperson of the education above all (EAA) in cooperation with UNHCR, highlighted the worsening displacement crisis and the issues in delivering education to refugees and internally displaced children. Global leaders discussed the devastating effects of conflict on the educational opportunities of millions of children.

As of December 2014, IDMC estimates that there are over 1.1 million internally displaced people in Somalia. The source of this figure is the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR, 22 December 2014).

UNICEF estimated that Somali children make up nearly 60 per cent of the total IDP(internally displaced people).

The question is can we help these children who are affected by the conflict of Somalia through the resources of Somali Internet Society to get quality Education while inside Refugee camp?

Yes we can, I believe we can achieve this. Let us mobilise our resources  to achieve this task and give our children the best quality education possible.

Let’s work together!
