, the Somali Chapter of the Internet Society, has completed a number of events that address the promotion of local content development and sharing the best practices in developing Internet infrastructure in the country. The Chapter promotes the sharing of infrastructure resources such as communication towers and projects involving the digging for laying fiber optic cables. Some of the activities completed in this regard include:

  • A seminar on infrastructure resource sharing
  • A project to publish a forum for sharing ICT ideas for development
  • A training workshop for social media as platforms for change

Other activities are in the pipeline and are set to be held in the first quarter of 2016.
