Calling for NextGen@ICANN Applications for ICANN80
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is calling for applications for the NextGen@ICANN Program for the ICANN80 Policy Forum.
ICANN wants to hear from university students living and studying in the African region who are interested in the future of the Internet and in participating in the ICANN80 Policy Forum. ICANN80 is scheduled to be held in Kigali, Rwanda, from 10–13 June 2024.
URGENT NOTE FOR CHAPTER MEMBERS: Please see email sent to you all, regarding the Chapter’s future. Following a recent chapter evaluation, the Somalia Chapter was placed in pre-rejuvenation status as it is missing a few necessary updates on its activities. Therefore, we have decided to urgently call for nominations, an election for new officers to lead the chapter. Therefore, please consider this and apply by 15 March 2024. The positions are:
President/Chair, Vice Chair, community liaison officer, technical officer and treasurer/Secretary. Secretary and
Treasurer are combined into one position.
Send your nomination to elections@som-isoc.org. The election will be supervised by independent observers.
The new officers will have the opportunity to amend the bylaws, strategies and future directions of the chapter.
